Amy L. Frields, daughter of Lanny and Mary (Edwards) Kite, was born July 9, 1973 in Atlantic, Iowa.  She received her education in Atlantic and graduated from Atlantic High School.  Following graduation, Amy attended Iowa Lakes Community College where she earned her degree in nursing.  She continued her nursing education at the University of Iowa where she completed her B.S.N. degree.

Amy was employed as Director of Nursing at the Emmetsburg Care Center and later as an O.B. nurse at the Palo Alto County Hospital.  She had also worked at the Emmetsburg Care Center and at Mercy One in Mason City.  Amy went on to receive her A.P.R.N. degree from Clarkson College in Omaha, Nebraska and was employed at the Palo Alto County Health System as a Nurse Practitioner.

On June 2, 2001, Amy was united in marriage to Kerry Frields at the First United Methodist Church in Emmetsburg.  They made their home in Emmetsburg with their children while Amy continued her career at the clinic.

Amy was a caretaker her entire life, whether she was caring for her family or her patients.  Amy loved being with her children making sure they had their homework completed, going on trips with them or watching Jake at the shooting range.  She always encouraged them to be their best.  Amy enjoyed traveling and she and Kerry were able to enjoy several trips with family and friends.   Amy especially enjoyed the vacations to Hawaii and Mexico and a recent trip with "the girls" to Las Vegas, where they enjoyed great entertainment and food, two of Amy's favorites.  Her family also had some very competitive board game competitions which she thoroughly looked forward to.  Amy loved when she became a grandmother and looked forward to every minute she could spend with her granddaughters.  Amy will be remembered by her family and friends for the many hugs she gave to each of them.

Amy passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg, Iowa, at the age of 48.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents and three uncles, Howard, Dale and Bob.

She is survived by her husband, Kerry of Emmetsburg, Iowa; her children Amanda (Ethan) Beurskens of Emmetsburg, Iowa; Austin Lietz of Emmetsburg, Iowa, Jacob Frields of Emmetsburg, Iowa and Jenna Frields of Emmetsburg, Iowa; her granddaughters, Coraline and Madelyn Beurskens; her father, Lanny (Jane) Kite of Marne, Iowa; her mother, Mary (Duane) Maher of Atlantic, Iowa;  her sister, Lisa (Guadalupe) Alvarez of Omaha, Nebraska; her brother, Adam (Jenny) Kite of Ogden, Utah; nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.
