Angel Marie Haverkorn, daughter of David and Julie (Reed) Bailey, was born March 6, 1977 in Spencer, Iowa. She received her education in the Ruthven-Ayrshire Community School, graduating in 1995.

On May 28, 1999, Angel was united in marriage to William Thomas Haverkorn in Minneapolis, Minnesota. To this union a daughter, Sophia Michella, was born.

Angel was employed at the Ruthven Community Care Center and the Spencer Municipal Hospital. Most recently she was working at Rosenboom Machine and Tool in Spirit Lake.

Angel loved to crochet and do scrap booking. She enjoyed traveling especially her trips to Colorado. Angel loved Will and Sophia with all of her heart and she enjoyed so much being a mom.

Angel was a member of the Living Word Outreach Ministries Church in Spencer, Iowa.

Angel passed away, Sunday, December 10, 2017, at the Spencer Municipal Hospital in Spencer, Iowa, at the age of 40. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and a sister-in-law, Michella Haverkorn.

She is survived by her husband and their daughter, William and Sophia of Spencer, Iowa; her parents, David and Julie Bailey of Ruthven, Iowa; her father-in-law, Thomas William Haverkorn of Savage, Minnesota; her mother-in-law, Colleen Haverkorn of Rocky Mount, North Carolina; a brother, William Christopher Bailey of Ruthven, Iowa; a sister, Stephanie Teepe of Laurens, Iowa; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Angel fought a very brave battle with colon cancer, becoming fully aware of her disease and her prognosis. She was passionate about getting the message out to others about screening, prevention and treatment. Angel fought the fight with grace and dignity and left this world in the same way, knowing she was going to a peaceful and pain free eternity.
