Arleen Esther DeMoss, daughter of Arnie and Effie Olson, was born November 24, 1938, in Alexander, Iowa. She received her education and graduated from Alexander High School. Following graduation, she pursued a degree in Education at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She moved to Cylinder, Iowa where she taught 3rd grade for two years.

On May 24, 1959, Arleen was united in marriage to Earl DeMoss in Emmetsburg, Iowa. To this union, they were blessed with a daughter and a son.

Arleen then helped Earl operate their dairy farm until 1983, when his health did not allow him to farm anymore. They spent their summers in Iowa and their winters in Arizona. While in Arizona, she was employed at Osco Drugs for 10 years. After Earl's death in 1993, Arleen moved to Cedar Rapids and worked for Petersen Von-Maur for 18 years until her retirement.

Arleen passed away May 27, 2024, at the St. Luke's Living Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, at the age of 85. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl DeMoss and her parents, Arnie and Effie.

She is survived by her daughter, Laurie (Jerry) Dietrich of Marion, Iowa; her son, Bill (Valerie) DeMoss of Eagleville, Missouri; grandson, Keaton (Ciera) DeMoss; great granddaughter, Nova; sister Gladys Peterson of Clear Lake, Iowa; brother, Edward Olson of Loveland, Colorado; as well as many other relatives and friends.
