Barbara Lynn Orr, daughter of Lauren and Mary (Hauschen) Orr, was born October 7, 1965 in Emmetsburg, Iowa. She received her education in Emmetsburg graduating in 1984.

Barb was life long member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she was a member of Lutheran Ladies and served on the Mary Circle. She was employed as the custodian at the church for several years. Prior to this position, Barb had several other cleaning and custodial jobs in the area. She was a dedicated employee and never afraid of hard work.

She loved reading, gardening and baking. Barb enjoyed looking at recipes on Pinterest and listening to 80's music, especially songs by the Bangles, Foreigner and one of her favorites, Dancing in the Dark by Bruce Springsteen. Barb also enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews.

Barb passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at PARC Hall in Emmetsburg, Iowa, at the age of 53. She fought a courageous battle with cancer, maintaining a positive attitude and great strength throughout. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary in 1985; her grandparents, Miles and Elizabeth Orr and Roy and Francis Hauschen; and many aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her father, Lauren Orr of Emmetsburg, Iowa; brothers, Dave (MaryLee) Orr of Emmetsburg, Iowa and John Orr of Emmetsburg, Iowa; sisters, Ginger (Ken) Jensen of Ringsted, Iowa, Jane (Lyle) Morse of Newell, Iowa, Karen (Dave) Musselman of Newell, Iowa and Debbie Orr of Emmetsburg, Iowa; nieces and nephews, Jeff (Jamie) Orr and their children, Keller and Myer of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Katie (Mitch) Axisa and their children, Lewis and Liam of Brookwater, Australia, Tharen Jensen of Ringsted, Iowa, Adam Jensen of Ringsted, Iowa, Angelina (Tony) Antelman and their children, Micah and Kassidy of Ankeny, Iowa, Jessica Morse of Newell, Iowa, Mike (Nancy) Musselman and their children, Uriel, Maddox and Avery of Sac City, Iowa; as well as many other relatives and friends.
