Betty Maxine Coburn was born on May 23, 1931 in Emmetsburg, Iowa the oldest daughter of Arthur "Dick" and Alice (Kress) Coburn.  She attended St. Mary's Academy graduating from the Catholic High School in 1950.  Following graduation Betty worked at Potter's Grocery Store and Seleen's Bakery.  On March 26, 1955 Betty was united in marriage to Howard Finnestad.  They made their home on a farm north of Cylinder for 59 years.  Howard and Betty were blessed with four children; Rickie, Sandra, Nancy and Carol.

Betty was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Depew where she attended Circle and Ladies Aid.  She also enjoyed teaching Sunday School, assisting with the children's Christmas programs and helping Bible School kids paint their own ceramic Nativity set.  Betty was a loyal member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary to Post #2295.  Her many hobbies included sewing, baking, crafts, gardening, shopping and watching movies.

Howard and Betty traveled extensively over the years on bus trips and in their camper.  They even traveled to Norway.  Most of all Betty loved being home and near her family.  She was a proud wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
