Brenda Lee Harding, daughter of Donald and Darliss (Miller) VanderVorste, was born July 22, 1963 in Aberdeen, South Dakota.  The family later moved to Mallard, Iowa where Brenda received her education, graduating from Mallard High School in 1981. She continued her education at Iowa Lakes Community College where she was enrolled in secretary school.

On November 20, 1989 Brenda was united in marriage to Robert Harding in Spencer, Iowa.  With this union, they were blessed with two sons, Kyle and Jason.

Brenda was employed at S.N.C. in Emmetsburg for over twenty five years.  Once it closed its doors she worked at various places in the area. Most recently she was employed at Jack Link's in Laurens.

Brenda greatest joy was going to the races with her family and friends. They  attended races throughout Iowa and the surrounding states and was always up for talking about her favorite drivers. She enjoyed following many of her favorite drivers to different tracks and weekly races. Brenda also liked following the "grandkids" in her life and their various activities.  She was an avid Broncos football fan and loved watching the Iowa Hawkeyes. More than anything, Brenda cherished the time she could spend with her family and friends.

Brenda passed away Sunday, January 5, 2025 at Avera-McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, at the age of 61.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Darliss VanderVorste and stepmom JoAnn.

She is survived by her husband,  Robert Harding of Graettinger, Iowa; her sons, Kyle Harding and his wife, Tricia  of Emmetsburg, Iowa and Jason Harding of Graettinger, Iowa; a brother, Troy VanderVorste and his wife, Mary of Bedford, Virginia; her adopted kids and grandkids; as well as other relatives and many friends.
