Bruce Paul Schneider, son of Paul and Florence Schneider, was born October 10, 1952 in Emmetsburg, Iowa. He received his education in Mallard, graduating from Mallard High School in 1971. While in high school, Bruce enjoyed playing football. Following high school, Bruce farmed near Curlew where he raised livestock and did grain farming.
On June 3, 1972 Bruce was united in marriage to Evelyn Manwarren in Emmetsburg, Iowa. They were blessed with two sons. Bruce continued farming until 2010 until he was forced to quit due to health issues.
Bruce was a member of the United Methodist Church in Mallard.
He enjoyed playing cards and golf in Mallard. He was an avid football fan and looked forward to watching games. Bruce enjoyed his dog, Lucy and they could be seen driving around town on his Side-by-Side. Bruce was a year round bird watcher, and was especially interested in the cardinals, orioles and gold finches. He kept track of what was going on at the Mallard elevator, watching them unload.
Bruce passed away Monday, December 11, 2023 at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City, Iowa, at the age of 71. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Florence Schneider; and two brothers, Gerald and Roger Schneider.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn of Mallard, Iowa; his children, Jason Schneider of Mallard, Iowa and Michael Schneider (Joan) of Denver, Colorado; three grandchildren, Rowan Schneider, Tate Schneider and Arden Schneider; brothers, Dennis Schneider (Pam) of Cary, North Carolina and Tony Schneider (Barbra) of Havelock, Iowa; as well as many other relatives and friends.
