Carol Audrey Marks, daughter of Henry and Laura (VonSpreecken) Dale, was born December 8, 1942 in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. She received her education in Fairfax School.

On June 6, 1959 Carol was united in marriage to David Marks in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. To this union three children were born. She and Dave made their home in Ruthven and then Spencer.

Carol worked at the Iowa State Liquor Store and then was employed as a dental assistant. She also worked at St. Luke's Lutheran Home as the activity director and most recently at Walmart.

Carol was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ruthven.

She loved cooking and entertaining for her family and friends. She enjoyed doing crafts, art projects and traveling but most of all Carol loved her family and being with her children and grandchildren.

Carol passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017 at her home in Spencer, Iowa at the age of 74. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Laura Dale; four sisters, Marjorie and her husband, Orlin Mack, Dorothy and her husband, Alfred Larson June Schartencamp and Jan and her husband, Clyde Deboom; and three brothers, LeRoy, Allen and Gerald Dale.

She is survived by her husband, David of Spencer, Iowa; her children, Debbie Cook of Spencer, Iowa, Gail Roberts of Rumford, Maine and Scott Marks of Hastings, Nebraska; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; as well as other relatives and many friends.
