Carol Margaret (McQuown) Reese, of Ruthven, Iowa went to be with the Lord on May 27, 2017. She was born September 26, 1924 in Emmetsburg, Iowa to Harvey and Susan (Talbott) McQuown. Carol married Melvin Wesley Reese on September 10, 1940 in Pocahontas, Iowa and they celebrated their 76th wedding anniversary.

Carol enjoyed fishing, baking, putting puzzles together, playing horse, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Gary Allen Reese; her parents, Harvey and Susan McQuown; a brother, Lee McQuown; sisters, Bertha Mae (Ralph) Wickman and Dorothy (Harold) Overturf; an infant brother; daughters-in-law, Mary (Gary) Reese and Donna (Thomas) Reese.

Carol is survived by her husband, Melvin of Ruthven, Iowa; son, Thomas Reese of Mallard, Iowa; sister, Shirley (Eldon) Fain of Estherville, Iowa; grandchildren, Paula Stoker of Alpha, Minnesota, Kristy (Gary) Schany of Curlew, Iowa, Shannon Marsh of Pocahontas, Iowa; six great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
