Christina Marie Carter, daughter of David and Sherry (Campbell) Lande, was born June 12, 1969 in Emmetsburg, Iowa. She began her education in Emmetsburg, and graduated from St. Edmond's High School, in Fort Dodge, in 1989. Christy received her Nurse's Aid license from Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge in 1995.

In 1996 Christy was united in marriage to Richard Carter. To this union three children were born.

Christy was employed as a nurse's aid and worked at a variety of fast food and service jobs. She was a member of ABATE of Iowa.

Christy loved motorcycle riding and going to dirt track races. She also treasured spending time with her children. She was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and loved drinking Mountain Dew.

Christy passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Society in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, at the age of 47. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sherry Lande; and grandparents, Kermit Lande, Anita Lande, Glen Campbell and Grace (Campbell) Means.

She is survived by her children, Tyler Carter of Watford City, North Dakota, Leslie Carter or Watertown, South Dakota and Michael Carter of Grassy Butte, North Dakota; their father, Rich Carter of Aberdeen, South Dakota; her father, David Lande; brother, David Lande, Jr.; step brother, Todd Volker; step sisters, Melissa Paterson, Erika Volker and Renee Volker; as well as other relatives and many friends.
