Curtis John Jorgenson, son of John S. and Arlene M. (Langford) Jorgenson, was born October 3, 1956 in Racine, Wisconsin.  He received his education in Fairmont and Swea City schools.

On April 15, 1978, Curt was united in marriage to Julie Moen in Emmetsburg, Iowa.  They were blessed with four children.

Curt worked for Upper Des Moines winterizing homes in the area.  He later went to work for the City of Emmetsburg where he was employed for thirty seven years, retiring in August 2017.  Curt always had a second job, "junkin" was the family favorite.  It was hard work and always a bonding opportunity

Curt loved his Timberwolf, Griz,  his boxers, but mostly Willow.  He was always ready to have a bonfire with family and friends and he especially loved sitting under the apple trees with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, while the fire was burning.  Curt liked to dance and to work in his yard.  He had a great interest in cars.  Curt will be remembered by his family as someone that was selfless, always giving to others.  He encouraged each of them to always handle  the hand life dealt them, to keep their heads up, no matter what the situation, because there was always a solution to be found.

Curt passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at his home in Emmetsburg, Iowa, at the age of 65.  He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Arlene Jorgenson; a sister, Bonnie; two nephews, Christopher and Trinity; and two brothers-in-law, Ken Tague and Milon Mussell.

He is survived by his wife, Julie of Emmetsburg, Iowa; his children, Luke (Courtney) Jorgenson of Emmetsburg, Iowa, Mandy (Joe) Hinton of Spencer, Iowa, Terry (Scott) Luiken of Emmetsburg, Iowa and Josh (Angie) Jorgenson of Emmetsburg, Iowa; twelve grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Ron Hutchison of Mallard, Iowa and Danny Hutchison of Rodman, Iowa; sisters, Kathy Mussell of Plainview, Minnesota and Theresa Tague of Plainview, Minnesota; nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.
