David William Bailey, son of William and Sarah (Richardson) Bailey, was born October 21, 1954, in Lake City, Iowa. David grew up and went to school in Lake City and after moving to Ruthven, he received his high school education and graduated from Ruthven Community School in 1974.

Following his high school years, David worked at Christian Sheet Metal for several years as a metal fabricator.

David enjoyed being outside whether it was out fishing or tinkering on one of his many projects. He loved working on cars, motors, and any other kind of mechanical work where he could fix something up.

David passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at his home in Ruthven, Iowa, at the age 67. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Delilah Bailey; his parents, William and Sarah Bailey; brothers, Douglas Bailey and Larry Richardson; his daughter, Angel Haverkorn.

He is survived by his wife, Julie of Ruthven, Iowa; his daughter, Stephanie Teepe; his son, William (Bill) Bailey; seven grandchildren, Dalton, Tasha, and Jaydon Teepe, Sophia Haverkorn, and Abby, Hailey, and Nolan Bailey; one great-grandchild, Weston Teepe; a half brother, Bill Gage; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, God-children, and many friends.
