David D. Marks
February 14, 1939 - December 1, 2020

David Donald Marks, son of Donald and Burnetta (Huiras) Marks, was born February 14, 1939 in Cobden, Minnesota.  David grew up in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota with his siblings, Mavis, Marlene, Janice, Linda and Dean.  David received his education in Sleepy Eye Catholic School.

On June 6, 1959 David married the love of his life, Carol Dale in Sleepy Eye and to this union three children were born, Debbie, Gail and Scott.

David loved building things and built a beautiful home out of a barn at Lost Island Lake where they resided before choosing to spend winters in Texas, and buying a home in Spencer.

He will most be remembered for his sense of humor, always a jokester.

David passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at the Spencer Municipal Hospital in Spencer, Iowa at the age of 81.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Burnetta Marks; his loving wife, Carol; and a sister, Janice.

He is survived by his children, Debbie of Spencer, Iowa, Gail of Rumford, Maine, and Scott (Marty) of Hastings, Nebraska; his grandchildren, Holly (Justin) of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Sara (Jeff) of Dixfield, Maine, Dalton (Ashley) of Rumford, Maine, James of Louisiana, Chris from Hastings, Nebraska, Jesse (Misty) of Spencer, Iowa and Mickey of Hastings, Nebraska; fourteen great grandchildren; three sisters; a brother; as well as many other relatives and friends.
