Deborah Ann Bruellman, daughter of Donald and Jeanette (Bendixen) Cook, was born May 14, 1960, in Sac City, Iowa. She received her education in the Emmetsburg Public School, graduating from Emmetsburg High School in 1979. As a young girl, Deb loved spending summers with her sister at the Lakes, near Milford, where she worked at her uncle Stan's Bait Shop, selling bait and cleaning fish.
On January 28, 1979, Deb was united in marriage to Mark Bruellman in West Bend, Iowa. They were blessed with five children. Deb was a faithful and devoted homemaker and took great pride in caring for her children. She did the bookkeeping for their business, Bruellman Bin Moving. Deb and Mark later divorced in 2013.
Deb enjoyed sewing and was an avid reader. She loved Pepsi and all kinds of sweets. Keeping her yard mowed and looking nice was important to her and she had no tolerance for snakes on her lawn. She had a love of animals, especially her dog, Toad and Grand-pups and Maggie and Rosie and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
Deb was peacefully called to her eternal home surrounded by her family on Saturday April 26, 2025, at the Laurens Care Center, Laurens, Iowa, at the age of 64. She was preceded in death by her father Donald Cook, mother Jeanette Darling, and her stepfather Robert Darling who was a huge part of her life.
She is survived by her children Jill (Brian) Henderson of St. James, Minnesota, Minny (Gabe) Adkins of Trimont, Minnesota, Lena Bruellman of Plover, Iowa, Jake (Sheila) Bruellman of Laurens, Iowa, and Rex (Emily) Bruellman of Mallard, Iowa; 9 grandchildren, a brother William Cook; a sister Donna (Richard) Hartman; a special family friend, Sheryl Darling; as well as many other relatives.
