Denise D. Cizek
July 6, 1957 - January 29, 2025

Our mother, Denise Diane (Degase) Cizek, of Ruthven, IA, passed away on January 29, 2025, at the age of 67, surrounded by her children and friends.

Denise's ashes will be interred alongside her grandmother, Effie Steele, in Glenwood, Iowa. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no formal service or visitation. The Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg, IA, is assisting with her arrangements.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Norma (Steele) Ford and Jimmy Degase; her stepfather, Marvin "Butch" Ford; and her two sisters, Debra Keck and Brenda Jordan.

Denise is survived by her children: Jenn Montgomery (Ben) of Bend, Oregon; Angie Cizek of Ames, Iowa; and Brian Cizek (Lianne) of Spencer, Iowa. She also leaves behind five grandchildren: Finn and Jessie Montgomery, Caitlyn Cizek, Meika Potter, and Nora Cizek, as well as one half-sister, Lynda Holliday.

Denise had a deep compassion for dogs, particularly golden retrievers. She dedicated the last decade of her life to caring for her golden retriever, Haven, who passed away in October.
