Dennis Clar Phillips passed away on January 4, 2020, at his home in Casa Grande, AZ. He was 76. He was born April 17, 1944, the son of Clar "Pat" Phillips and Gertrude Phillips at Spencer, Iowa.

Dennis was formerly from Linn Grove, Iowa, where he farmed.  He was active in basketball, baseball and FFA while he was in high school, where he was active holding offices and showing his pigs for several years.  In later years, he was very active in the Little Sious Golf and Country Club, holding office, playing in golf tournaments, and playing cribbage.  He was a member of the Clay County Soil Conservation and practiced conserving the soil in his 40 years of farming.  He also participated in the Clay County Pork Association  and Clay County Beef Association.

Dennis Married Nancy Weisbrod Phillips on February 25, 1967, and they had two children, Jamie Dean Phillips and Jacqueline Dawn Phillips.

He was survived by his wife, Nancy Phillips; his daughter, Jacqueline Phillips; His grandson, Justin Phillips; a brother, Richard Phillips; a sister, Donna Phillips; as well as many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clar "Pat" Phillips; his in-laws, Wallace Weisbrod and Shirley Weisbord; a brother-in-law, Richard Zuber; and a niece, Denise Phillips.  His son,  Jamie Phillips, passed away on October 21, 2020.
