Dorinda Marie Goodale was born August 2, 1952 to Deane and Verda (Nelson) Goodale, in Spencer, Iowa. She was the first of three daughters born to Deane and Verda. Dorinda's school years were spent at Clay Central School, until her mid Junior year when she moved to Spencer High School, graduating in 1969. While in school, Dorinda participated in band playing the clarinet and later tenor saxophone.

After high school, Dorinda worked for Northwest Bell Telephone in Spencer and Ames. Later she worked at Northwest Printing and Reminder in Spencer. Through the years, she did phone survey work for Per Mar. For a number of years Dorinda lived in Atlanta, Georgia and Stockton, California. Dorinda's final job was working with CAASA until she developed health issues.

Dorinda was a devoted member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Royal, Iowa, where she and Deanna lead a Bible Study group, which included many individuals that they grew up with.

Dorinda enjoyed people and especially her Bible Study group. Her hobbies included crafting, painting and Bingo, but her favorite pastime was reading. Dorinda enjoyed any book, whether fact or fiction and for a time was employed at the Spencer Public Library. A highlight in Dorinda's life was traveling to California to visit her Goodale relatives with her sister. They then spent time in Colorado also.

Dorinda went home to be with her LORD on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the age of 64. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Steven Dotson.

She is survived by her sisters, Deanna Hart and Deborah (Stephen) Zitterich; nieces and nephews, Tana (Justin) Darling and their children, Tristan and Gabe; Brandon (Cara) Hart; Dalton (Breanne) Hart and their daughter, Bella; Adam (Kelly) Dotson and their children, Alyssa, Cedie, Angelo and Dominic; Katie (Justin) Campbell and their children, Caitlin, Hannah, Emily and Drew; her dear friend, Mindy Means; as well as other relatives and many friends.

Dorinda will be remembered by her friends and family for her wit and humor along with the special meals she shared with her family. She will truly be missed.
