Dorothy "Jean" Weatherman, daughter of George and Ilo (Rehm) Gappa, was born July 22, 1946 in Emmetsburg, Iowa. She received her education in Ruthven and graduated from Ruthven High School.

In September of 1968, Jean was united in marriage to Bob Weatherman in Jackson, Minnesota. They were blessed with a daughter, Barb.  Jean's primary job in life was taking care of her home and family.

Jean and Bob lived in Ruthven for most of their married life.

She loved her many pets, taking care of her garden, watching her favorite soap operas, and especially spending time with Bob, Barb and Chris, and her grandchildren.

Jean passed away April 21, 2022 at her home in Ruthven, Iowa, at the age of 75.  She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ilo Gappa.

Jean is survived by her husband, Bob of Ruthven, Iowa; daughter, Barb (Chris) Knapp of Spencer, Iowa; three grandchildren, Bradley (Nikki) Knapp of Alamogordo, New Mexico, Emily Cole (Nick Dischler) of Spencer, Iowa, and Madeline (Blake) Iles of Spencer, Iowa; two great grandsons, Wyatt and Jackson; along with many friends.
