Elaine Marie Swanson, daughter of Richard and Rosella (Stigman) Kinnetz, was born March 17, 1944 in Emmetsburg, Iowa.  She received her education in the Emmetsburg school system.  Elaine was married to Jimmie L. Bendixen on August 17, 1963.  They were blessed with two daughters, Janelle and Jen.

On October 10, 1987 Elaine was united in marriage to Deryll Swanson at the Birchwood Resort in Walker, Minnesota.  Elaine had the joy of gaining a son with her marriage to Deryll.  Elaine and Deryll enjoyed spending many summers at the Birchwood Resort until buying property in Minnesota where they continued to go each summer.  Elaine and Deryll looked forward to working at the Moondance Rock and Roll and Country Music Jam, held in Walker, Minnesota each year.

Elaine was employed at Ready Mix in Emmetsburg for over 30 years.  She also worked as a waitress in the cafes in Ayrshire for several years.

Elaine enjoyed camping and spending time at Leech Lake. She also looked forward to going to the Casino, playing Bingo and Euchre.  In her younger years, Elaine also liked bowling.  Elaine cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Elaine passed away Sunday, September 22, 2024 at her home in Ayrshire, Iowa at the age of 80.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Rosella Kinnetz; her husband, Deryll; sisters, Linda Laws and Billie Fett; brother, Benjamin Kinnetz.

She is survived by her children,  Randy (Deb) Swanson of Manson, Iowa, Janelle Bendixen of Ayrshire, Iowa and Jen (Chad) Buettner of Ayrshire, Iowa; eleven grandchildren, Jeremy Swanson, Nicholas Swanson, Justine Tonderum, Jake (Morgan) Tonderum, Jared Tonderum, Joseph Tonderum, Jackie (Nate) Miller, Jordan Buettner, Cami (Vincent) Buettner, and Justin Buettner; great grandchildren, Oakley, Emmet, Addilyn, Nate Jr., Amelia, Ryder, Ruger, Riggs, River, Madison, Kyler; sisters, Barbara Grafe of Minnesota and Mary Douglas of Arizona; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Elaine and Jerry Holland of Emmetsburg, Iowa; several  nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.
