Ella Mary Marie Halstead, daughter of Thompson and Verie (Shott) Halstead, was born March 25, 1953 in Emmetsburg, Iowa. She received her education in the Emmetsburg Public School.

Ella was employed at Iowa Lakes Community College in Emmetsburg for eighteen years where she worked in maintenance. She also worked at Horizons in the can redemption center.

Ella was blessed with four children, Pat, Rick, Matt and Joey. She loved the west, especially Wyoming where she would camp and go to various ranches and places that she could ride horses. She liked to travel to these places with Sharon and they enjoyed going to the Wild Stallion Reservation in Wyoming. Ella also liked to go to the casino and she collected unicorns and trolls.

Ella passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Lakeside Lutheran Home in Emmetsburg, Iowa at the age of 66. She had only resided there for about three weeks. She was preceded in death by her parents and her seventeen siblings.

She is survived by her children, Pat Colling and his wife, Kelley of Milford, Iowa, Rick Colling and his wife, Kristin of Emmetsburg, Iowa, Matt Colling of Emmetsburg and Joey Halstead of Emmetsburg, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Jonathan Colling, Jaxson Colling, Payton Gibbons, Jade Colling, Brice Colling, Kaylee Colling, Braxton Colling, Jordan Halstead and McKenna Halstead; many nieces and nephews; as well as other relatives and friends.
