Frank joined the United States Navy in 1944, serving in the Seabees during WWII. He was stationed in Okinawa, Japan where he was very proud to serve his country. Upon his safe return to the United States, Frank was united in marriage to Rosella Murphy in 1947. The couple resided in Palo Alto County and farmed for many years. To this union nine children were born.

After the passing of his wife, Rosie in 1993, Frank continued to enjoy caring for grandchildren, playing golf, going fishing and attending mass as often as he could. Frank was very committed to daily prayer and devotions. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, V.F.W., American Legion and the Knights of Columbus.
