Gary Lee Robbins, son of Vernon and Maxine (Nading) Robbins, was born November 5, 1947 in Littleport, Iowa. Gary's family moved to Florida where they lived for a short time before returning to eastern Iowa, where Gary received his education.

Gary served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from December 30, 1966 until being honorably discharged on November 11, 1967.  He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.

On November 9, 1979 Gary was united in marriage to Kim Schutz in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  Gary was an over the road truck driver.  He spent most of his career hauling meat to the East coast.  Gary developed Diabetes and was unable to drive cross country any longer.  He began hauling grain in the area and worked several years for Hurleys.

Gary loved to go to eastern Iowa deer hunting each year.  He also enjoyed fishing and going boating in his free time.  Gary spent countless hours doing puzzles and playing cards with his family and friends.  He was very proud of one of the deer he shot which was featured in the Cabella's magazine. Gary's dream was to shoot a bear and he was able to make that dream come true, on a hunting trip to Idaho with some of his friends.

Gary passed away Sunday, June 20, 2021 at his home in Mallard, Iowa, at the age of 73. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Maxine Robbins; three brothers, Lavern, Dale and Gene Robbins; and a sister, Lola Jane.

He is survived by his wife, Kim of Mallard, Iowa; their children, Ricky Robbins of Mallard, Iowa, Donald Robbins of Oelwein, Iowa, Shad (Brenda) Ruddy of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Cory (Tracy) Robbins of Illinois, and Brandy Robbins of Mallard, Iowa; a granddaughter, Hailey Robbins; thirteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a brother, Jerry (Linda) Robbins of Boscobel, Wisconsin; sisters, Ardola (Ron) Maser of Oelwein, Iowa, Merna (Vance) Gregerson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Carol Burgess of Tomah, Wisconsin; nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.
