Iva Williams, daughter of Howard and Mabel (Jolliffe) Reese, was born August 13, 1931 near West Bend, Iowa. She began her education in country school between Mallard and West Bend and graduated from West Bend High School. As a young girl Iva became known as "Ivy" to her family and friends.

On June 19, 1951 Ivy was united in marriage to Burness G. Williams in Algona, Iowa. To this union four children were born.

Ivy and Burness farmed in the Curlew, Webb and Emmetsburg areas. Ivy was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.

Ivy was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church in Ayrshire where she was active in the Goodwill circle, helping with countless events held at the church. Ivy chaperoned an U.M.Y.F. trip to the Black Hills which she truly enjoyed. She spent many hours volunteering at the Ruthven Community Care Center.

Ivy loved to have guests in her home and will be remembered for her great hospitality. She always had coffee and "goodies" available to share whenever someone stopped. Ivy loved to do embroidery work and made many beautiful items for her family and friends. She and Burness made their home in Ayrshire for several years.

Ivy died Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Lakeside Lutheran Home in Emmetsburg, Iowa, at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Burness in 2007; brothers, Floyd Reese, Raymond Reese and Melvin Reese; and one sister, Luella Duis.

She is survived by her children, Rodney D. Williams (Barb) of Holts Summit, Missouri, Gary L. Williams (Jerry) of Albert Lea, Minnesota, Karen A. Raper (Doug) of Weare, New Hampshire and Robert A. Williams (Barb) of Roland, Iowa; grandchildren, Rodney Williams, Jr., Johann Williams, Duke Williams, Miles Williams, Jason Raper, Jennifer Clarke, Spencer Williams and Gabriel Williams; two great grandchildren, Owen and William Clarke; a brother, Lyle Reese of Farnhamville, Iowa; a sister, Verla Brown of West Bend, Iowa; as well as many other relatives and friends.
