On April 16, 1949 Jerry was married to Joanne Rice.  To this marriage four children were born, Robert, Richard, Jerry and Rebecca.

Life in Sioux Rapids was very active with a young family and a young group of business associates, who started the Little Sioux Golf and Country Club.  Jerry bought and developed Riverview Addition to the city.  He was an avid golfer, loved hunting and his coffee Club "High Rollers".
