John Mugge
September 16, 1954 - September 24, 2024

John Arthur Mugge, 70, of Spencer Iowa passed away peacefully on September 24, 2024 after a brief illness with cancer.

John was born on September 16, 1954 and grew up near Royal. He enjoyed camping, boating, riding his bike, and marveling at nature. His life's passion was in farming, as well as spending time in Ixtapa, Mexico during the winter season.

He is preceded in death by his father, step father, and sister.

He is survived by his mother Beverly Slipke;  his siblings;  his children, Jenna (Jeremy) Palmer, Sarah (fiancé, Chris Simpson) Mugge, Mariel (Anthony) Myers, and Christine (Adam) Carey; as well as nine grandchildren.

A private celebration of life will be held on November 2, 2024 from 2-4pm in Okoboji. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Martin-Mattice Funeral Home, and will be allocated to the Clay County Conservation Board.
