Julie Bailey, daughter of Kenneth and Betty K. (Lawrence) Reed,  was born April 2, 1957 in South Dakota.  As a young girl, Julie's family moved to Clay County, Iowa where Julie received her education.  She attended Spencer High School.

In 1974, Julie was united in marriage to David Bailey in Spencer, Iowa.  They were blessed with three children.

Julie worked with her mother in housekeeping at the South T Motel and the Tangney Hotel, both in Spencer.  She then earned her C.N.A. certification and began working at the Ruthven Community Care Center.  Julie worked at the Care Center for a few years before she and David moved to Minnesota.  She then began her employment at the Trevilla of Robbinsdale.  Julie and David returned to Ruthven and Julie worked as a telemarketing agent.

Julie enjoyed crocheting and sewing, making many beautiful items.  She also liked to go camping with her family and cherished all the time she spent with David.  She loved each and every one of her grandchildren.  Julie always had cats and dogs around her home.

Julie moved to the Fonda Specialty Care Facility in Fonda, Iowa where she has recently made her home.  While living there Julie enjoyed doing crafts with the other residents.

Julie passed away Friday, April 12, 2024 at Fonda Specialty Care at the age of 67.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Betty Reed; a daughter, Angel Haverkorn; her husband, David Bailey; sisters, Vicky Vodraska, Valorie Reed, Gloria Nava and Patty Aeilts.

She is survived by her children, Stephanie Kay Teepe (Nathaniel Mefferd) of Ruthven, Iowa and William Christopher Bailey (Heather Dillingham) of Everly, Iowa; son-in-law, Will Haverkorn of Spencer, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Dalton, Tasha and Jaydon Teepe, Sophia Haverkorn, Abigail, Hailey and Nolan Bailey; two great grandchildren, Weston and Isabelle Teepe; Goddaughter, Melinda Skidmore of Lake City, Iowa; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
