Larry Johnson, 70, of Ruthven, passed away on August 7, 2026 at the Estherville Community Care Center.  Private family graveside services will be held on Wednesday.  There will be a visitation celebrating Larry's life on Tuesday August 11th from 5-7 pm at the Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Ruthven.

Larry Steven Johnson, the son of Merlyn William and Constance Faye (Huffman) Johnson, was born on August 3, 1956 in Spencer, Iowa.  He graduated from Ruthven High School in 1975.  Larry worked as an aide at various nursing homes in the area.  Larry enjoyed antiques, collecting arrowheads, fishing, hunting and trapping.

Larry is survived by his sister, Deb (Richard) Prior of Graettinger; and nephews, Christopher (Jennifer) Prior and Matthew Prior.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Craig Johnson.
