Obituary

Linda Jean Hansen passed away peacefully with her family by her side on October 29, 2026, at the age of 79. She was born on September 21, 1947, to her loving parents Gene and Peanuts Williamson in Spencer, IA.  Funeral services for Linda will be 10:30 am on Tuesday November 10th at Zion Lutheran Church in Ruthven.  Visitation will be 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Monday November 9th at the Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Ruthven.  Burial will take place in Crown Hill Cemetery in Ruthven.

Linda's education started in Spencer and she later graduated from Ruthven in 1965. On September 25 th , 1965, Linda was united in marriage to Dar Hansen at the Zion Lutheran Church in Ruthven.

She was a doer, always keeping busy with various jobs over the years. Her work experience included Aalfs as a seamstress, many years as a farm wife, food prep and waitress at Gene’s place, school lunch cook, Wonder Bread thrift store Manager, ASCS, making pallets for the elevator, and various jobs at the Ruthven Community Care Center.

Linda loved sewing and made various items, including matching outfits for her kids, Barbie doll clothes, Halloween costumes, and prom dresses. Linda loved spending her afternoons at the lake, especially after a long morning of walking/weeding the bean fields.  She got her cooking skills from her mother, whipping up anything that was asked of her. She catered the meals for both of her daughters' weddings, as well as many graduation open houses for her grandchildren. Painting kept her busy as well, painting several interior rooms of her kids and grandkids' homes. Learning to ride a Harley and going out to Sturgis three times was a big highlight in her life. Traveling with her husband to many US states, several cruises and a couple of trips to Disney World with the grandkids were also a favorite of hers. Her winter pastimes in her earlier years were spent putting puzzles together. In Linda’s later years, they spent winters in Texas with friends and family enjoying happy hours, dancing, and a lot of laughter. Also, while in Texas, after watching the skydivers for years at the South Padre beach, she decided to be a daredevil and checked it off her bucket list. And we can’t forget her monthly visits to the nail salon. Anytime she could be with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren or at an activity of theirs was a cherished moment for her. They were what made her world go around.

Those who went before Linda include her grandparents, Henry and Bertha Williamson, Francis and Clark Eaton; parents Gene and Peanuts Williamson; parents-in-law Clarence and Laura Hansen; brothers Ronald and Richard Williamson; sister Connie Severson; brothers-in-law Dave Severson, Arnold Roland and Douglas Hansen; nephew Arnie Roland; niece Deb Michurski.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Dar of Ruthven, IA; her children, Michelle (Wayne) Kronemann, Britt, IA; Kris (Joey) Cother, Ionia, IA and Mitchell Hansen, Webster City, IA. Grandchildren, Tyler Kronemann, Ethan (Maribel) Kronemann, Kamille (Seth) Goepel, Hunter Cother, Kayla Hansen and Ashlynn (Jake) Klemm. Great-grandchildren, Easton, Milah, Maverick, Rosie, Lauren, Alaina, Striker, Saban and Sloan. Sisters-in-law Julie Williamson, Doris Roland and Dixie (Art) Williams. And several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
