Mary Caroline Ingram was born June 16, 1944 in Primghar, Iowa, to John and Caroline (Ortman) Bohan. She attended and graduated from Primghar Schools in 1963.
She was married 8 October 1965 through 30 June 1980 and to this union three children were born. Mary entered the service in 1964 and was proud to serve her country as a member of the United States Marine Corps until she was honorably discharged in 1966. Mary remained very active in the Women's Marine Association during her lifetime, attending numerous conventions throughout the country.
Most of her life she spent taking care of her three children as well as taking care of other children while running a daycare in her home. Later in life when Mary moved to Sheldon with her three children, she began to work as a nurse's aid. She loved to give to others through gifts she would make or bake or gifts that she would find while bargain shopping. Besides her love for children, she had a great love for all animals and would rescue any stray she would find.
Mary passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Lakeside Lutheran Home in Emmetsburg, Iowa, at the age of 74. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Caroline Bohan; daughter-in-law, Terra Ingram; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Bohan.
She is survived by her children, Carol Ann (Mike) Eppens of Mason City, Iowa, Thomas Ingram of Vermillion, South Dakota and Julie (Bill-former spouse) Yilek of Marion Iowa; four grandchildren, Allison and Angela Eppens and Joshua and Keli Yilek; her brother, John Bohan of Webster City, Iowa; and special friend, Ron Krause of Emmetsburg, Iowa; as well as other relatives and friends.
