Norman Knudtson
March 6, 1924 - January 12, 2021

Norman Edward Knudtson, son of Leonard and Viola (Anderson) Knudtson, was born March 6, 1924.  He grew up in Sioux Rapids where he received his education.  In 1944 Norman joined the United States Navy.  He served his country on the Aircraft Carrier, Ticonderoga.  Hawaii, Guam, Iwo Jima, and the Philippines were the destinations he served.  Following his honorable discharge Norman spent time with his mother in California and then returned to Sioux Rapids where he made his home.

Norman was married to Carol Man and started farming east of Sioux Rapids.  They were blessed with five children, Linda, Nancy, Jim, Susan and Janet.  Carol passed away at the age of 39 due to cancer.  Norman later married Donna Gross.  Together they enjoyed farming and gardening.  Dancing was Norman's favorite passion for entertainment and he especially enjoyed the love and loyalty of his dogs.

Norman passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Pleasant View Home in Albert City, Iowa at the age of 96.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Carol; his second wife, Donna; and a daughter, Susan Caskey in 2015.

He is survived by his children, Linda Steffen, Nancy Pyle, Jim Knudtson, and Janet Wright; grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends.
