Ruth Marie Miller, daughter of Laverne and Pauline (Mohror) Wetherell, was born April 9, 1930 in Peterson, Iowa.  She received her education in Peterson, graduation from Peterson High School.

On September 12, 1953, Ruth was united in marriage to Bernard Miller in Jackson, Minnesota.  They were blessed with two children.

Ruth began working in the banking business after graduating from high school and continued in that capacity throughout most of her working years. Ruth was employed at the Ruthven State Bank for many of those years.  She enjoyed working with all of the customers until her retirement in 1991.  Shortly after retiring, Ruth accepted the position of Secretary/Treasurer for the United Methodist Church in Ruthven, working there for several years.  Ruth also was employed at the Martin-Mattice Funeral Home where she greeted guests at visitations.

Ruth was a faithful and devoted member of the United Methodist Church and church circle.  She was also a member of the Ruthven American Legion Auxiliary.  Ruth held  many offices in each of these organizations.

Ruth loved cooking and baking for her family and celebrating holidays together.  Her grandchildren were very important to her and she often sent them "care packages" which often included her delicious chocolate chip cookies.  Ruth looked forward to picnics at the Ruthven park with her great granddaughter.  Fridays were her days to go to Spencer to get her hair done and get her groceries.  That was always a highlight for Ruth.  She loved playing cards and golf with her family and friends.

Ruth passed away Thursday, October 13, 2022 at the Ruthven Community Care Center, at the age of 92. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bernard; sisters, Dorothy (Ralph) Davis, Ione (Chuck) Sievert, and Doris Cox; a granddaughter, Alison Feldman; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Denzel (Nelva) Miller, Vern (Maureen) Miller, and Walter (Goldie) Miller, Jr.; nephews, Dan Wetherell, Steve Wetherell, Gary Miller and Larry Miller; and a niece, Roxie Miller.

She is survived by her children, Deb (Mark) Feldman of Spencer, Iowa and Rick Miller of Colleyville, Texas; grandchildren, Blake Miller, Brayden Miller, Brooklyn (Danny) Miller-Keane, Jake Feldman and Abbie Greene; a great granddaughter, Lila; brothers, Max Wetherell of Peterson, Iowa and Bill Wetherell of Fairfield, California; a sister, Janis Raveling (Jim Wilson) of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.
