Sylvia "Syd" Wolfe
August 29, 1918  -  March 21, 2020

Under today's trying circumstances and limited gatherings, no viewing or public service will be held at this time.

Sylvia O. Wolfe, the daughter of Ted and Emma (Johnson) Christianson, was born on August 29, 1918 in Lost Island Township. She was a lifelong resident of this area.

On May 1, 1935 Sylvia was united in marriage to Fred Wolfe in Jackson, Minnesota. They farmed near Graettinger for many years before retiring and moving to Emmetsburg in 1977. Sylvia and Fred were married for 63 years prior to Fred's death. She was a wonderful cook, loved to entertain, play bridge, read and spend time with friends and family. She was always her family's greatest blessing.

Sylvia was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Emmetsburg.

Sylvia passed away Saturday, March 21, 2020 at the Emmetsburg Care Center, at the age of 101.  She was preceded in death by  her parents and her husband, Fred on March 7, 1998.

She is survived by daughters Jane (Les) Perkins of Mankato, MN and Vicki (Dean) Petersen of Graettinger, IA, five grandchildren, Cindy Rothenbuehler, Todd Perkins, Dallas Quastad, Shelby Mayer, and Casey Petersen, ten great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
