Thomas John Arndorfer, son of Michael and Susan (Kellner) Arndorfer, was born July 20, 1940 in Algona, Iowa. He began his education at St. Benedict and graduated from Corwith High School.
On October 27, 1959, Tom was united in marriage to Bonnie Froehlich. Tom and Bonnie were blessed with six children.
Thomas was a lifetime grain elevator manager. He managed the Mallard branch of the West Bend Elevator Company for 25 years before moving to Minnesota to manage elevators in Lake Benton and Sanborn.
Tom never met a stranger, just a friend he had not spoken to yet. He was the embodiment of a busy bee, driving a little white pickup, going to coffee with buddies, to the golf course, sporting events, and the "Bingo Barn" a.k.a. Wild Rose Casino. He enjoyed attending sporting events, often the first fan in the stands with a bag of popcorn and a Diet Coke. He loved long walks around town, especially when he should be resting. He also enjoyed playing cards with friends and family or battling the computer in never-ending games of Solitaire. His claim to fame was his annual Christmas display, lighting up the town with holiday cheer. He was a loving and joyful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to anyone who crossed his path.
Tom and Bonnie moved from Sanborn, MN to Emmetsburg, IA in 2013. He passed away Thursday, July 15, 2021, at the age of 80 years.
Tom is survived by his wife: Bonnie of Emmetsburg; his children: Jan (Fabian) Sanchez of Fresno; Julie (Dan) McCain of Emmetsburg; Sue (Doug) Doyle of Estherville; Terry (Steve) Vaughan of Omaha; Kelly (Dennis) Vonnahme of Pocahontas; Chris (Tanya) Arndorfer of Marshall; fifteen grandchildren: Brent; Kelsey, Ben, and Molly; Pat and Sarah; Amber and Abby; Kate, Jill, Mike and Jenna; Michelle, Ashley and Carter; 4 step-grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; siblings: June Reding, Arlene Rice, Marge Oxley, Gene Arndorfer, Mary Tigges, and Alice Gramza; sisters and brothers-in-law: Judy Rosenmeyer, Linda Besch, Marge Ziemet, Lee Froehlich, Tom Froehlich, Jim Froehlich, Bill Froehlich, Robyn Gray, Jayne Krieps and LuAnn Garnjobst; many nieces and nephews, as well as numerous other relatives, golf and coffee buddies and friends!
Tom is preceded in death by his parents and infant great-granddaughter, Makyla Laree Chapman. He is loved and missed by many.
