Vernon Liester

Vernon Grant Liester passed away peacefully on March 28, 2022 at the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg, Iowa, at the age of 80.  He is survived by his son, Tim (Melia) Liester of Excelsior, Minnesota; daughters, Tami (Kelly Miner) Liester of Ruthven, Iowa and Teri Voehl of Gilbert, Arizona; grandchildren, Joe Liester, Kate (Max) Crawford, Garrett Hansen, Lauren Hansen, Adam Voehl, Max Voehl and Zoe Voehl; brother-in-law, Bob Lewis; nieces and nepehws.

Vernon worked in the lumber/millwork industry in management during his working years.  Upon his promotion to manager of ABC Millwork in Excelsior, Minnesota, Vern accomplished a lifelong goal of residing in Minnesota which originated from a school trip to Minneapolis in his youth.  An avid outdoorsman, Vern hunted and fished all over North America, often accompanied by his many beloved Golden Retrievers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Judy Lewis and Carol Liester.
