Vickie Phelps, age 66 of Emmetsburg, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at the Lakeside Lutheran Home in Emmetsburg. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 5, from 3:00 - 5:00 PM at Martin Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg with a burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Martin Mattice Funeral Home of Emmetsburg is assisting the family.

Vickie Lou Phelps, the daughter of Loren and Mae (Iverson) Phelps, was born on April 4, 1960, in Emmetsburg, Iowa. She worked at Rosie Café and Quality Café. She also did in home daycare and worked at Kathleen's care center in Emmetsburg for 35+ years. Every staff member and resident was very special to her. Vickie enjoyed going to the Wild Rose Casino, playing scratch off tickets, and watching old time movies. She loved spending time with family.

Vickie was preceded in death by her parents, Loren and Mae; brother, Lawrence Phelps; sister, Ruth Day; and nephew, Dylan Berry.

Left to cherish Vickie's memory are her sisters, Bonnie Arnold of Emmetsburg, Sharon (Jessie) Manwarren of Emmetsburg, Donna Berry of Alexandria, MN, and Diane (Tony) Streit of West Bend; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
