Victor Ernest Johnson, son of Ernest and Mary (Anderson  Ruborg), was born September 23, 1945 in Emmetsburg, Iowa.  Vic grew up on a  farm in Great Oak Township.  He received his education in the Emmetsburg school system and graduated from Emmetsburg High School.  Following high school, Vic attended Emmetsburg Junior College.

On November 28, 1964 Vic was united in marriage to Judy Hoben at Bethany Lutheran Church in Emmetsburg.  They were blessed with a son.

Vic was involved in the real estate business, working with Alvin Jolliffe and Jim Bisenius for a few years before opening Johnson Realty.  Vic and Judy operated the agency for over forty years and Johnson Realty was truly their passion.  Vic enjoyed meeting with their clients and helping them to either buy or sell their properties.  He  and Judy were long time members of the Emmetsburg Chamber of Commerce.

Vic was a talented musician, playing guitar in two bands.  He loved all types of music but especially classic country.  He was a Ford man through and through.  Every vehicle he drove had to be a Ford.  Vic was also interested in guns, old cars and tractors.  He loved going with his family to the Thresherman's Bee, in Albert City, each year.  He enjoyed spending time on their farm and was an avid fan of  college sports, NASCAR and rarely missed watching a Minnesota Vikings game.

Vic passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at Mayo Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota at the age of 76.  He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and  two sisters-in-law, Gustave Johnson, Leonard and Darlene Johnson and Sandi Johnson; and a sister and brother-in-law, Seiri and Harry Hilton.

He is survived by his wife Judy of Emmetsburg, Iowa; his son, Bruce Johnson of Emmetsburg, Iowa; two grandchildren, Colyn (Anna) Johnson of Emmetsburg, Iowa and Jayden Johnson of Emmetsburg; two brothers, Harold Johnson of Boone, Iowa and Wayne (Donna) Johnson of Ruthven, Iowa; nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.
