Wayne Thomas Ingram was born at Great Lakes Naval Base on March 8, 1951 to Thomas and Janet Ingram. Wayne peacefully passed away with his wife holding his hand on July 20th at the V.A. Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
He grew up near Elk Grove Village in Chicago, Illinois. He then went to Job Corp and after that joined the Marines in 1969. Wayne was injured while serving in the Marines and was honorably discharged.
He lived all over the United States from Florida to Los Angeles, and to Spokane, Washington.
He had three children with his first wife; Eric, Jason and Andrea, whom he loved very much and was so proud of them.
He met Tina Ingram in 1998 and moved to Ruthven, Iowa to be with her. They were married in September of 2004 at Zion Lutheran Church by Pastor Luther Thoresen. Wayne loved the town of Ruthven. He was active in the American Legion for many years, attending meetings, helping with breakfasts, putting the flags up for National Holidays, and going to the Veteran's Day ceremony at Ruthven-Ayrshire school.
He also helped with many of the funerals of the Veterans that passed away. He was very proud of his service in the United States Marines. He was also very proud of the U.S.A. and the Flag.
Wayne was an avid reader of everything. He always had a book or magazine nearby. When he got a Kindle he would often read four or five books at a time. He loved going fishing and sitting with his book, not caring if he even got a bite. He also enjoyed getting on his phone in the morning and reading Tina the news of the day. He loved good jokes and was always joking with people or giving someone a hard time. He loved his fur babies and was there for them when Mia May, Patches and Maisy Mo, all crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. He got cancer in 2012 and after that he enjoyed being with his wife, Tina, reading, sitting on the deck, going for rides, grilling, and watching TV. He also loved playing with his Molly, the last fur baby. He also enjoyed his get together times with his extended family and visiting with them all. Wayne and his wife were best friends.
He also had two stepsons, John and Michael Wilbur. He was also very proud of them and loved them very much.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Andrea; his brother, Terry; his mother-in-law, Augusta Overeen; and brother-in-law, Thomas Trosper.
He is survived by his wife, Tina; his sons, Eric and Jason; granddaughters, Anastasia and Emily; step-sons, John (Amber) Wilbur and Michael (Synnora) Wilbur; step-granddaughters, Autumn, Charlotte, and Kinnick; his extended family, Charlotte Trosper, Doren and Julie Tatman, and Eloise and Steve Larson; a sister, Missy-Lynn Bonner; many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and his sweet Shih Tzu, Molly.
